Game Design Experience
As an undergraduate at High Point University, I have been working on my game design degree for almost four years. In those four years, I have created board games, card games, and several video games prototypes. I have also taken classes on character, level, narrative, puzzle, and user-interface design. Out of those four years, I have only begun working in Unreal Engine for the past two. While two years might not sound like a lot of time, I have created several projects inside and outside of class which can be found throughout my portfolio.

Game Design Specialties

Getting into Unreal Engine is what really allowed me to find out what my specialties are: Tech Design, Gameplay Design, and Programming. While I enjoy working on narratives and designing characters, I have found that what I am actually best at is designing the gameplay for those characters and stories. There have been multiple assignments where I haven't been told to make any kind of unique character but can't help but start to prototype some new gameplay. I find that, on my own, I'm constantly starting new projects because I come up with another fun idea for a game and start programming the player character to do whatever I come up with.
